Celebrate the Now.

Have you recently taken a moment to count the blessings in your life? Or do you find yourself feeling as though your goal is too far to reach? I have been in both positions. As I have traveled through my journey of life, I have learned that it is important to celebrate the now.

Celebrating the small wins makes your journey ten times more rewarding and fun. Rather than contemplating on the fact that you’re not where you are, take a moment and reflect on the fact that you’re not where you used to be. Changing your mindset will provide an extremely different outcome to your goal.

When you get stuck on how far you are from your goal, it causes you to be more negative about your progress. With that negativity, it can cause a pause or even end the motivation to continue chasing your goal. Celebrate the growth you have experienced within the past few months. Celebrate waking up in the morning and getting a chance to restart the day. Celebrate the small pieces to the puzzle.

When you congratulate yourself on those small factors, your progress becomes seamless. It will also move faster than you imagine. By celebrating more, you have more fun on your journey. The more fun you have, the sooner you’ll reach your goals. You may even realize that the goal is unnecessary and where you are in your journey is exactly where you are meant to be.

With that being said, be more loving to yourself. Pat yourself on the back for taking that small step. Small steps lead to big results which lead to creating a life you love.

You are destined for greatness, don’t lose sight of your goal but also remember to celebrate the now.

Believe in Yourself.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure,” quoted by Marianne Williamson.

We often fear the unknown, but how can we blame ourselves? On the contrary, we can and should blame ourselves. Why is it that we fear what we don’t know especially when it comes to pursuing our dreams? I believe it is because we dilute our talents. We don’t realize how our existence impacts the world and we downplay ourselves. Well, I’m here to tell you, that the time for that has come to an end. You need to stop now. Don’t block your blessings.

Williamson also writes, “Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.”

Why not make that move? Why not start that business? Why not apply for that promotion? What is truly stopping you from being the person you envision yourself to be? The answer is simple – you. You are capable of succeeding and more. The first step is believing in yourself. The second step is changing how you view the obstacle that is standing in your way.

Life can throw many trials at you, but you were made to succeed. Take a moment to figure out your passion and talents at let each fuel your heart. Do not try to run from your insecurities when it comes to pursuing your dreams. Instead use your fears, as motivation to achieve what you thought was once unachievable.

Turn on the light within yourself and inspire others do the same. When you believe in yourself, you motivate others. Let’s work together to light up world by fueling ourselves and one another.

“It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I believe in you, I hope you believe in you too.

Finding Balance.

Do you ever feel as though you never have time for anything? Are you consistently on the go and don’t seem to have a moment for/to yourself? You surely are not alone. For the last few years, I’ve struggled with finding balance between work, social life and getting involved in the community.

Finding balance in life is key in order to maintain a stress-free way of living. Obtaining balance flows into other aspects of our lives such as mental health, financial health and overall success. This can be achieved by following three simple steps: prioritizing activities, saying “no” and making time for yourself.

  1. Prioritizing is surely easier said than done but it is essential. Having to balance more than two things, always brings upon stress. One way that helps me to prioritize is making a list. Making the list shows me what has the most importance, what brings me the most stress and what brings me the most satisfaction. From there, I am able to let some activities go and relieve some stress off my shoulders.
  2. Saying “no” has never been an easy task for me. I always wanted to make sure others were happy and never wanted to miss out on anything. I reflected and saw that, it brought nothing but stress into my life. There are times where we can’t make everything and can’t make everyone happy and that is alright. If you can’t make it or don’t want to, you can say no. Saying “no” allows you to have more time in your schedule.
  3. Making time for yourself is the most important step to obtaining balance. Alone time brings clarity, peace and breathing time. Try to have one day a week where you are able to do what you enjoy. That can consist of cooking, watching your favorite show or even taking a bath. Having time to yourself helps with reflection and distressing from life’s woes.

Prioritizing, saying “no” and having alone time has benefited me in finding balance tremendously. Maintaining these steps has allowed me to focus on what is important and free up more of my time to explore new interests and build relationships. Taking the time to reflect has helped my stress level, especially during this transitional period in my life. It has allowed me to let go of old habits and make room for new, productive habits. With that being said, following these three steps will assist you in creating a better quality of life.

Refocus Your Focus.

There are often times when life throws curveballs at us. Whether it is not getting the job you wanted, keeping the money you saved for or breaking up with someone you love. When instances like that occur, I believe it is a sign to refocus your focus. Life, in my eyes, has a funny way of showing us what we need rather than giving us what we want.

When situations do not go your way, take the time to refocus your focus. Taking the time to change your focus, will allow you to view things from different perspective. It will also allow you to appreciate the changes in your plans and lead to a better outcome.

Having a new set of eyes allows you to make better decisions. You expand your mind and thought process. So, take the time to not be angry at the life change but appreciate the life change. Take a breather and change your perspective. Refocus your focus and watch life change for the better.

Patience. Peace. Perseverance.

Recently, I've journeyed through obtaining patience, peace and persistence. When I was younger I never had any of these qualities. Now let me tell you, it didn't just happen in one day. This journey was probably one of the hardest journeys I have ever embarked on. If you find yourself like me, here are a few tips to obtain these crucial qualities.

1. Start with yourself. I have learned that everything you want in life, you need to start with yourself. Become patient with yourself. This journey will not come overnight, in a day or even in a month. Time is on your side. It is for you and not against you.

2. Let go of anything negative in your life. When you have negativity in your life, you will never truly progress. Leaving negativity in the past will make room for more positivity and peace. Reverting back to the first point, when you have peace within yourself nothing will truly affect you.

3. Never give up. No matter the circumstance, situation or answer. Perseverance creates strength and opportunities that you never knew was there. When you take the first no, you will never be satisfied or achieve the goals you have. Keep going and the universe will meet you to take you to the next level.
